Diageo reveals 2017 Special Release whisky collection

Diageo has unveiled nine of the 10 whiskies to be launched as part of its 2017 Special Releases six months early, a series it calls ‘the worst kept secret in malts’.

Diageo Special Releases, the annual collection of limited edition whiskies – a series that began in 2001 and has featured whiskies from lost distilleries such as Port Ellen, Brora and Caledonian – has whisky enthusiasts clamouring to discover which bottlings will be released each year, reports Scotchwhisky.com.

The world’s largest Scotch whisky producer has only revealed nine of the 10 whiskies that will comprise the 2017 Special Releases when released this autumn. These are – Blair Athol 23-year-old, Brora 34-year-old, Caol Ila 18-year-old, Convalmore 32-year-old , Glen Elgin 18-year-old, Lagavulin 12-year-old, Port Dundas 52-year-old,  Port Ellen 37-year-old and Teaninich 17-year-old.
