Briggs Brewery came into being with the objective of giving beer lovers access to quality and affordable craft beers, which were and still are in much short supply in relation to their demand in India. Briggs Brewery claims to be the first home-grown craft beer brand in the bottled segment that is based in Bengaluru.
Hari Singh, Founder and Director of Briggs Brewery Pvt. Ltd., had found equally passionate partners in Francis and Prathik, who are renowned experts in the beer industry; channelised their collective knowledge and skills by partnering with Bengaluru’s oldest manual manufacturing plant to brew their own brand of beer. That is how Briggs’ beer came into being. The company was launched as recently as 2018, went into production and officially launched its beers in December 2019.
Briggs has on offer some quality craft beers for Indian consumers, which are manufactured from all-natural, authentic ingredients with no artificial additives, at affordable rates. “The company has developed its own formulations/recipes and has been using ingredients sourced globally to come up with quality that is far superior than most of the beers floating in the Indian market,” explained Hari.
The company imports authentic, high-quality raw materials from Belgium. Its objective is to come up with international quality products at economical rates. “Our craft beers are brewed in Khodays factory, which is one of the oldest breweries in Bengaluru. It is a 60-year-old brewery. Khodays possesses some of the oldest and finest copper stills to brew beers,” he disclosed.
According to Hari, the company brews for 20-22 days to get its craft beers as compared to 4-5 days brewing which general commercial beers get on an average. “Regular beer is manufactured in large plants, which need huge Capex to be incurred upfront. We have adopted the Capex light model by working with small brewers with spare capacity to ensure that the quality and pricing are within control,” explained Hari.
