BrewDog, the multinational brewery and pub chain based in Scotland, has attained the distinction of being a carbon-negative producer. The company now removes twice as much carbon from the air as it emits each year. It has also unveiled plans to invest 39 million USD to create a more environment-friendly enterprise.

As part of its environment-friendly initiatives, BrewDog has purchased 2,050 acres of land in the Scottish Highlands, which is located north of Loch Lomond, with the green objective to develop the BrewDog Forest. It envisages to plant one million trees at the site over the next few years.

Work on the BrewDog Forest is expected to begin in early 2021. Till it is able to begin planting on the BrewDog Forest, the company will work with offset partners on a number of projects with the objective to double remove all of its carbon.

BrewDog is also expected to release Bad Beer Vodka in 2021, which will be created by distilling beer from brews that are “not quite in spec, to beers which are too old to sell”. The “zero-waste vodka” will facilitate the brand towards its green endeavours by reducing its annual waste.
