Diageo India will make hand sanitisers at its 15 units across India. This is a commendable step by the alcoholic beverage giant to support Indian government’s efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The units will be repurposed to produce around 300,000 litres of sanitiser with the purpose of overcoming the paucity of sanitisers in India. The demand for hand sanitisers in India is increasing by the hour. Besides this, Diageo India has informed that it would also donate 500,000 litres of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) to the sanitiser industry to make 2 million units of hand sanitisers.

Diageo India will also donate around 150,000 masks to five public health departments across the country for health care professionals and caregivers who are now nothing short of Corona Warriors.

The alcohol beverage giant has also extended support with a Rs. 3 crore health insurance cover for bartenders associated with the Diageo World Class Programme in India.
