AIDA welcomes incentive on ethanol sourced from maize

The All India Distillers' Association (AIDA), an apex body of the distillers in the country, has welcomed the move by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to give an additional incentive of Rs 5.79 per litre for ethanol sourced from maize.

Thanking the OMCs, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and the Ministry of Food & Public Distribution, the President of AIDA,  Chandan S. Shirgaokar has said that it was an interim relief given to grain-based ethanol manufacturers which had come at the right time. The industry body emphasises that the grain-based distillery units in India have achieved approximately100 percent growth in ethanol production in the last two years and hopes that they would supply approximately 500 crore plus litres of ethanol during 2025-26 .AIDA also praised the Prime Minister's E20 ethanol blending programme.
