K Kavitha sent to jail in Delhi liquor policy case

A Delhi court sent Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha, who is also the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, to judicial custody until 9th April in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. K Kavitha was arrested under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

She was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from Hyderabad on 15th March. Her custody with the ED was extended by five more days on 23rd March. The Delhi trial court will hear Kavitha's interim bail request on 1st April.

Kavitha's arrest was closely followed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s supremo and Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate. He was arrested from his home on 21st March, after searches and questioning by the federal agency. He is in the agency's custody till 28th March.
