CBI arrests K Kavitha on liquor gate

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha inside Tihar Jail over an alleged money-laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy. Her arrest comes days after the probe agency questioned her in jail, where she is under judicial custody.

Kavitha is the daughter of the former Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekar Rao. She has been accused of being a key member of the ‘South Group,’ which allegedly paid the ruling AAP in Delhi kickbacks of Rs 100 crore in exchange of a share of liquor licences in Delhi.

CBI officials had recently questioned Kavitha inside the prison after obtaining permission from a special court.
