49 -YO Silent Distillery expression by Midleton Very Rare

The 49-year-old Silent Distillery expression by Midleton Very Rare is the fifth release in their Silent Distillery Collection. Distilled by Max Crockett in 1973, it stands as the oldest whiskey ever crafted at Midleton.

Originating two years prior to the closure of the Old Midleton Distillery, this single pot still whiskey was the product of maturation in ex-Bourbon barrels before being married for six months in cask number 52969, previously used for Bourbon aging.

With an ABV of 52.4 percent and a hefty price tag of US$55,000, this exquisite whiskey will grace shelves in Ireland, Northern Ireland, the US, France, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Belgium, Austria, Australia, China, Hong Kong, the Persian Gulf, Singapore, and global travel retail outlets.

Encased in a tiger brown oak burr cabinet adorned with white leather and silver detailing, the whiskey is presented in a hand-blown and etched decanter crafted by Waterford Crystal, which adds a touch of elegance to this exceptional offering.
