Bill Newlands is new President of Constellation Brands

Constellation Brands’ chief operating officer Bill Newlands will take on the additional role of president of the company.

Newlands, who was promoted to COO in January 2017, will take over from Rob Sands as president of Constellation Brands. Sands will remain CEO of the company.

In his expanded role, Newlands will have “oversight and accountability” for all operating aspects of Constellation, and will seek to advance its position in the industry.

Newlands joined Constellation Brands from Beam in 2015 as EVP, chief growth officer. His role expanded to include leadership of the company’s wine and spirits division in 2016, before becoming COO the following year.
