Increase in wine imports

The country that exports the most wine to China is France, with little than a 39% market share (98.23 million litres of wine, for US$ 485.1 million) followed by Australia, Chile, Spain, Italy, the US, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina, and Portugal.

After signing a Free Trade Agreement in 2008, Chile rose from last year’s No. 9 to this year’s No. 7 exporter.

From January to June, the province of Guangdong (neighbouring Hong Kong) imported US$ 437.3 million worth of bottled wines, surpassing Shanghai’s US$ 332.2 million.

The country imported 75.51 million litres of bulk wines, representing an increase of 6.86%. Chile shipped the most bulk wines to China, to a value of US$ 29 million, followed by Australia (US$ 13.5 million), Spain and France.
