B9 Beverages Gets Fresh Funding

B9 Beverages, which owns the craft beer brand Bira 91, has raised $4.3 million in fresh funding from Mumbai-based venture fund company Sixth Sense Ventures. So far Bira 91 has garnered $74 million in equity financing from angel investors, which include Bollywood celebrities like Farhan and Zoya Akhtar, Bollywood film producer Ritesh Sidhwani and Flipkart’s CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy.
Bira 91 entered India’s mass beer market in April of this year with the launch of a sub-brand named Boom. Presently Boom is present in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.
