Operational guidelines for APSBCL to Run Liquor Outlets

Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Ltd. (APSBCL) has been issued operational guidelines by the excise department to run 3500 retail liquor outlets.

These liquor stores can run from 10 am to 9 pm, except on dry days and the number of outlets per corporation, municipality and mandals under APSBCL would be fixed by the Commissioner of Excise and Prohibition.

If the retail liquor outlets under APSBCL are located in urban areas they need to have five staff, and if they are located in the rural areas they need to have four staff. The composition of staff in such outlets would include one shop supervisor, two or three salesmen, and one watchman.

According to the guidelines, the supervisors would get a remuneration of Rs.17,500 a month, while the salespersons’ remuneration would be Rs.15,000 per month. Moreover, they would be eligible for Provident Fund and Employee’s State Insurance (ESI).

These staff would be appointed for a period of one year, on contract or outsourcing basis. Only those candidates who are native of the mandal or local body in which the shop is located would get employment in these liquor retail outlets in Andhra Pradesh.
