Beam Suntory has reported results for the first half of 2022, reflecting stronger than expected demand in key markets and excellent performance for its premium brands. The company’s net sales increased by 13 percent  in the first half of the year as compared to the same period a year ago, reflecting a 25 percent increase as compared to the pre-pandemic period in 2019.

By region, sales were up 13 percent in North America, 10 percent in Asia and 20 percent in Beam Suntory’s International region during the above-mentioned period as compared to the same period in the last year.

The company benefited from double-digit sales gains in markets including the United States, Spain, United Kingdom, India, Australia, and Emerging Asia, high-single-digit sales growth in Japan, as well as because of the favourable timing of shipments.

Sales of Beam Suntory grew more than twice the rate of case volumes, as the company’s premiumisation agenda continues to gather momentum.

“The fact that we were able to deliver these strong results in a challenging period underscores the resilience of our markets, quality of our brands, and the significant impact of our premiumisation strategy,” said Albert Baladi, President & CEO of Beam Suntory.

The company recently announced a 400 million USD investment in its Booker Noe distillery in Boston, KY.
