UP excise to ensure availability of brands

At a meeting with merchants and other officials, the Excise Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh has given instructions to staff to monitor and prevent alcohol overcharging and to ensure that all alcobev brands are consistently available in Noida and Ghaziabad.

Alcohol merchants, who were also present in the meeting, claimed a shortage of some brands like Glenfiddich, Absolut, or Ballantine in Noida and Ghaziabad's market.

Officials blamed the late registration to Lucknow's excise department, complaining that it was responsible for the delay in the supply of these brands. The Commissioner also asked officials to check liquor smuggling.
