De-addiction drive in Chhattisgarh

Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, has given instructions to the Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh to start a de-addiction campaign statewide.

Amitabh Jain, a top official, has been tasked by the Chief Minister to contact well-known persons and groups fighting addiction in the nation in order to create a comprehensive action plan for the campaign that focuses in particular on the needs of the younger generation.

The state government requested the social welfare department to provide a thorough action plan in this respect within a month, according to a press release that was released on Thursday. The directive arrives a few months before the state assembly elections of Chhattisgarh.

For the campaign to be effective, the CM has also directed that NGOs, social, cultural, and religious organisations participate actively in it.
