Maharashtra to act against liquor shops violating rules

The Maharashtra government has announced that liquor stores' licences would be revoked if they were frequently caught breaking the 10 pm deadline.

MLAs had brought up the problem of booze stores in Maharashtra repeatedly breaking this law in the legislative assembly. It was claimed that many liquor stores in Mumbai violated the law as they should be 50 metres away from schools, colleges, and temples, and that complaints against them frequently went unanswered.
