Camikara Rum enters the US

Camikara Rum, a product of India's Piccadilly Distilleries, has been released in the US.

It is the first rum made up of India’s authentic cane juice. Camikara means ‘liquid gold’ in Sanskrit and is prepared from fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses. In the highlands of northern India, the rum is matured for 12 years in barrels made of American oak. No additional colour, flavour, sugar, or spice are added to the rum and it is bottled at 50 percent ABV.

The liquid has a bouquet of smells on the nose, including honey, ginger, toffee, raisins, prunes, and leather. The flavours are characterised as being a blend of bitter chocolate, vanilla, and honey.

Camikara has an SRP of $90 for a 750ml bottle and is offered at a few select outlets in the US.
