A millet awareness event with the theme ‘Millets: From Farm to Plate’ was organised by the FSSAI, Northern Region in collaboration with Radisson Blu Kaushambi Delhi NCR. The event was directed especially at the Chefs of multiple renowned hotel chains and students from various hospitality and culinary colleges.

One of the dignitaries at the event was Navneet Jain, Group CEO of Radisson Blu Kaushambi Delhi NCR and Radisson Blu Towers Kaushambi Delhi NCR, who gave the FSSAI, Northern Region a lot of assistance for the event's effective planning. The occasion was greatly enhanced by Sanjay Kaushik, Senior Regional Director, Operations, Radisson group, South Asia.

The event's special guest was Praveen Kumar Singh, the Agriculture Commissioner for India's Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. He provided details on the nation's millets promotion policies and subsidies.

The event, attended by over 50 hotels and 200 Chefs from northern states, highlighted the importance of millets in combating food security and promoting a balanced diet. Dr. Manisha Narayan, Deputy Director of FSSAI Northern Regional Office, highlighted the role of Chefs in promoting millet consumption and improving palate acceptability. Chefs from the Radisson Blu group of hotels shared recipes and demonstrations of millet shami kebab and their initiative ‘Farmer Millet Brunch.’

The event also featured participation from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), with senior scientist Dr. Vinutha T highlighting research trends and processing technologies associated with millets.
