Numerous illegal distilleries destroyed in Jamshedpur

As a consequence of a coordinated operation between the police and the Jharkhand excise department to stop illegal booze trade, over a dozen distilleries had been destroyed in the vicinity of the Birsanagar police station, in the suburbs of Jamshedpur.

Law enforcement officers have seized over 1,500 units of illegally produced country-made alcohol as well as a sizable amount of the raw materials required in its production. From the demolished distillery premises, the authorities also seized machinery used in the production of illegal alcohol.
