Demand for IML fall in Karnataka

The sale of Indian made liquor in Karnataka showed a decline of 15 percent as a result of the increase in liquor prices. Though there has been no shift in the demand for beer in the state as of now.

The state government of Karnataka has increased the price of liquor products in the state. However, the liquor buyers took the government by surprise by not buying liquor in quantities which were expected.

As a result of the increase in price of IML in Karnataka, the prices of liquor of all 18 slabs have risen by 20 percent. Every month the sale of IML in Karnataka, on an average, was about 61 lac ton boxes. However, till 18th August 2023, only 18.8 lac ton boxes of IML have been sold in the state
