UP’s excise revenue increases impressively

Uttar Pradesh’s excise department's revenue has increased by 9 percent during the first half of the current fiscal year, showing a greater demand for alcoholic beverages in the state.

The department was able to raise almost Rs. 20,150 crore through the sale of alcoholic beverages during this period, according to the state government's half-yearly performance evaluation.

The excise department of Uttar Pradesh generated Rs. 18,509 crore in duty from the sale of domestic liquor, foreign liquor made in India, beer, and other alcoholic beverages between 1st April 1 and 30th September 2022.
