A step towards enhanced hospitality education

Accor and the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IIHM's acclaimed Global Campus in Salt Lake, Kolkata, marking an important step towards improving education in the hospitality industry.

The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a long-term cooperative collaboration for the purpose of delivering improved hospitality education and giving students access to employment possibilities across India.

The partnership, which was officially launched by Dr Suborno Bose, Founder and CEO of IIHM and Puneet Dhawan, Senior Vice President, Operations, Accor India & South Asia, brings together one of the largest hospitality companies in the world with the leading hospitality education brand to foster mutually beneficial ties.

In accordance with the requirements of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) and the Government of India, IIHM will provide 1-year Certificate/Diploma courses that include industrial training and exams in Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Hyderabad.

Offering industrial training opportunities, guest lectures, faculty development programmes, internships and placements in Accor-managed hotels, and operational exposure across its properties in India, Accor will contribute crucial inputs to IIHM to support the design of the industry-relevant curriculum.
