Tamil Nadu may close 275 liquor outlets

Tamil Nadu government is mulling to close 275 Tasmac liquor outlets, after people complained of the disturbance created as a result of these outlets.

The state Excise Department has deputed bureaucrats to conduct detailed studies on the complaints received against each outlet, on the basis of which it would arrive at a decision. Earlier, the state government had shut down 500 Tasmac liquor outlets, following similar complaints from the public.
