No new liquor outlets in Kerala

The Kerala government has announced that Kerala won't see the opening of any additional Bevco outlets till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are over.

Following locals' widespread protests against the opening of new liquor stores, the state government has issued directives in this respect. Some sources however claim that the government made this decision in response to pressure from pub owners in the southern state who are against the plan to open additional BEVCO stores throughout the state.
