PRS Oberoi passes away

Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi, the doyen of Indian hospitality and the Chairman Emeritus of The Oberoi Group and fondly known as Biki, passed away on the morning of 14th November. He was 94 years old. In a statement on X, The Oberoi Group expressed profound grief and sorrow, announcing the peaceful passing of P.R.S. Oberoi. Statement reads “His passing is a significant loss for The Oberoi Group and the hospitality industry in India and overseas. May his soul find eternal peace.”

Born on 3rd February 1929, PRS Oberoi served as the Executive Chairman of EIH Limited, and the Chairman of Oberoi Hotels Private Limited, the major shareholder of EIH Limited. He was credited as a forerunner in revolutionising the hotel business in India, placing Oberoi hotels on the map for international luxury travelers through the opening of several luxury hotels in key cities.
