Suntory mulls on investment opportunities in India

According to the Chief Executive of Suntory Holdings Ltd., Takeshi Niinami, Japanese multinational alcobev player Suntory is planning its expansion in India’s beverage market.

The company is looking to expand its alcobev and other businesses in India with local partners, Niinami said in an interview. As per the report, the company is looking to invest “much more” in India's market, and is mulling possibilities for building new factories and acquiring existing businesses in India.

He also informed that Japanese companies were moving supply chains to Vietnam and other South-east Asian countries to lower risks. However, “it can’t be done overnight”, he said, as China has a lock on production for some basic inputs.
