Liquor shops in border areas of Karnataka proposed By Spiritz Desk 23 Feb 2024 in Alert New Update Karnataka state legislature committee has proposed the opening of state-owned liquor shops in areas bordering neighbouring states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In such areas, drinkers are found to be consuming local liquor, which is harmful to health. The committee has recommended that Mysore Sales International Ltd (MSIL), the centralised marketing unit of the Government of Karnataka, should open its liquor shops in such areas as per demand. In its report, the committee also noted that in some places MSIL outlets are in the middle of the village, and they must be shifted as they are causing inconvenience to the public.
