Hapusa introduces Forager’s Championship

Nao Spirits owned Indian dry gin Hapusa has introduced an innovative cocktail competition, which is named Forager’s Championship. It is open to bartenders in four countries - India, the UK, Italy and Thailand.

As per the rules of the competition, the competing bartenders are required to submit a video of a cocktail recipe containing Hapusa Himalayan Dry Gin as its main ingredient, as well as one foraged local ingredient. The serve should also be listed on the participant’s bar’s menu for a minimum period of one month.

In the next stage of the competition, ten finalists from each country will be invited to compete in local heats, where the competitors will also be taking part as judges for each other’s serves. These ten finalists will be announced on 1st June.

One winner from each country will be selected as a ‘champion’ and invited to India in September. These four winners will be given an all-expenses-paid trip to the Himalayas, where they will forage ingredients to develop a cocktail which will be inspired by the Himalayan mountain range. The cocktails will be presented during a takeover at one of India’s leading bars.

In order to get entry into the competition, bartenders in the participating countries can register through a form on the @hapusagin Instagram page. Entries will be accepted until 15th May.
