Argentina-based Domaine Bousquet has released Natural Origins, which the winery claims to be the first organic boxed wine from South America. Natural Origins goes on sale in the US from April 2020.
The Natural Origins range currently comprises two wines – a Malbec and a Cabernet Sauvignon, which come in three-litre cardboard boxes. A Chardonnay and a rosé are being expected to be added to the range in this summer.
The Malbec and Cabernet will come at 20USD per box, which contains the equivalent of four standard 75cl bottles of wine.
The Natural Origins range uses fruit from the upper reaches of the Tupungato Valley, which are endowed with the advantage of large day night temperature shifts and the intense Andean sunlight; facilitating the production of intensely concentrated wines.
In addition to being organic, the boxed wines are vegan. According to Domaine Bousquet, they remain fresh for 30 days after they are opened.
