No Manufacturing & Sale of Liquor in UP till Further Orders

The top bosses of Uttar Pradesh’s excise department have been flooded with queries about the opening of liquor vends in the state. Now the department has made it clear that the packaging, marketing and sales of liquor in UP are banned till the GoI and the State Government decide on this after 20th April 2020.

While giving this update to Spiritz magazine, Sanjay R Bhoosreddy said, "We had issued an order around 20th March 2020 to all alcohol beverage producing distilleries in the state to manufacture alcohol-based sanitiser in their distilleries till the raw material is there in their systems."

He said only sanitiser manufacturing and sale was being permitted to these distilleries in the light of the pandemic of Covid-19.

"Tipplers in UP will have to wait to raise a toast to their good health" he added.
