Port Askaig unveils 12-year-old whisky

Elixir Ditiller’s released Port Askaig 12 Years Old Spring Edition. Elixir’s new Islay Single Malt comprises distillate from 2006 and 2007 that has been matured for more than 12 years to create an Islay whisky that is said to have perfect balance between sweetness and smoke.

Port Askaig 12 Years Old has aromas of peated malt, zesty lemon oil and a maritime minerality.

The palate offers notes of lemon sherbet, peach, sooty smoke and toffee-led sweetness, with hints of barbecued lemons and fresh mint lingering in the finish.

New Islay Single Malt bottled at 45.8 percent ABV without caramel colouring or chill filtration and priced at US$88 per 700ml bottle. It is available to purchase from The Whisky Exchange.
