With this the French spirits player is returning to the realm of sparkling wines. Champagne de Telmont produces wine under the J. de Telmont label and is presided over by the fourth generation of the family. Rémy Cointreau has disclosed that it had entered into negotiations with the Lhopital family to acquire a majority stake in Champagne de Telmont. The company expects to complete the deal in the third quarter of 2020-21. Here it deserves a mention that in 2011, Rémy Cointreau sold its Champagne division for €412 million to luxury goods group EPI. In 2010, Remy Cointreu placed its brands Piper-Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck for sale. The investment covers Champagne de Telmont’s brands, stock, production resources, real estate assets and vineyards. The financial terms of the above-mentioned deal are not being disclosed.
