New Update

The world’s first single estate Grenache gin has been floated by Never Never Distilling Co., which is a distillery from South Australia. The name of the beverage is Ginache. The newly released drink has been made from the distillery’s award-winning Triple Juniper Gin and Grenache, using grapes picked from Chalk Hill’s Slate Creek vineyard.

The distillery’s tasting note says that the cherry red with rose-gold hued gin imparts a bouquet of rose petals, cinnamon and fresh raspberries on the nose.  Like most gins which use grapes to flavour the base, the colour and flavour of the gin will change over time. The Brand Director of Never Never Distilling Co., Sean Baxter recommends drinking this gin “while it is fresh and the fruit character is at its most vibrant.” According to him, over time the colour of this gin will deepen and its flavours will become more earthy.

Only 2500 bottles of this gin has been released. A small number of bottles are being reserved for those guests who would be visiting the distillery’s McLaren Vale home after it reopens in the coming months.
