Lark Distillery from Australia has come out with its first blended malt whisky. It is named Symphony No.1 and it is described as “creamy and oily.” The newly launched whisky comes across as a blend of single malt whiskies from the Lark Distillery in Tasmania.
Crafted from a symphony of complementary casks, Head Distiller Chris Thomson has expertly woven the complexity of American oak bourbon with the balance of sherry and heavier depth of port to form a creamy, oily amalgamation of flavours.
The whisky can be described as “punchy and fruity” on the nose. It is endowed with notes of fresh mango, toasted pineapple, orange, vanilla and tangerines. The palate reflects indications of peach and apricot, followed by sweet Tasmanian apples dipped in toffee.
Bottled at 40.2 percent ABV, Symphony No.1 can be purchased from Lark Distillery’s website and Dan Murphy’s stores across Australia, at 100 USD per 500ml bottle.
