McDowell’s No. 1 and Sterling Reserve attract global attention

Diageo’s McDowell’s No. 1 attain regained its first position leaving behind Officer’s Choice of Allied Blenders & Distillers, as per the Brand Champions report, 2020 of the Spirits Business magazine.

As per the released data, Sterling Reserve has been crowned Indian Whisky Brand Champion 2020 due to a second phenomenal year of growth. Allied Blenders & Distillers has posted 131.4 percent surge on sale during 2019 with 2.8 million cases of sales as compared to 1.2 million cases sales in 2018.

McDowell’s No.1 Whisky reported a 6 percent volume growth in 2019 with 30.7 million cases sales as compared to 29 million cases sales in 2018.

McDowell’s No.1 secured the top spot from Officer’s Choice for the first time. The brand is owned by Diageo-controlled United Spirits. However, Officer’s Choice slipped into second place with a small margin. Allied Blenders & Distillers’ most loved and consumed brand was 5 million cases ahead of McDowell’s No.1 Whisky in 2018.

MacDowell’s No.1, Officer’s choice, Sterling Reserve and other Indian whisky brands are together narrating a wonderful success story of Indian whiskies.
