Mike Dolan, the former CEO of Bacardi, has co-founded a sustainable Tequila brand named Mijenta. Dolan joined hands with Mexico-based distiller Ana Maria Romero to develop the new brand. He is the lead investor for Mijenta. Ana has more than 25 years of rich experience in the Tequila industry behind her.

The first product under the ambit of the brand is Mijenta Blanco. It is made using Blue Weber agave from maguey plants, which are grown in deep red clay soil and harvested at their ripest. The product is priced at 50 USD and can be purchased from Mijenta’s website and Reserve Bar.

Mijenta Blanco is endowed with honey, vanilla and caramel flavours, along with tropical fruits such as peach, melon, pineapple and soursop. Mijenta brand focuses on sustainability. Everything used to make the brand’s first product is sourced from Mexico only with the objective to support local businesses and communities. Wastage of agave is used to make the labels and box.

The brand will be initially launched in the US with the endeavour to have presence in Europe, Australia, Middle East and South East Asia by the end of this year.
