To mark its 125th anniversary this year, independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail will release four single malts. All the four beverages will come from casks from a closed distillery or made on Lomond stills which have ceased to be in production. The casks are held in the warehouse of Gordon & MacPhail, located in Elgin, Scotland.

The first of these commemorative whiskies to be released is Gordon & MacPhail 1972 from Coleburn Distillery in Speyside. 363 bottles of this 47 year-old whisky is available, which is priced at RSP £1,500. Bottled at cask strength of 62.4 percent ABV, the liquid is characterised with sweet aroma with butterscotch notes.

The palate of Gordon & MacPhail 1972 exudes apricots flavours, cooked apples and mint giving way to a medium finish with autumnal fruit and a slight herbal finish.

All the four single malts will be released during the present year.
