Breezer Vivid Shuffle’s endeavour to enhance hip-hop skills

School of Shuffle, the series of digital workshops by Breezer Vivid Shuffle to enable enthusiasts and upcoming artists to learn new hip-hop techniques, is back with phase 2.

Launched in November, the workshops bring alive sessions by the community’s best across dance forms like hip-hop showcase, breaking and popping, as well as rap and graffiti. And they are available free of cost to make the hip-hop learning experience more accessible.

Phase 2 will kick-start with a dance session by Alisha Shaikh, and a music production workshop by music producer, beat-maker and entrepreneur, Sajeel Kapoor, popularly known as Sez on the Beat, on 17th December.

Tushar Shetty, a street dancer from Mumbai who represented India at the World Hip-hop Championship in 2014 and 2015, will be conducting a dance workshop on 18thDecember. Tushar has also assisted with choreography on popular dance reality shows like Nach Baliye, Dance India Dance, and is currently working as a choreographer on the show titled India’s Best Dancer.

Dance enthusiasts have another great opportunity to learn from the trained dancer and choreographer of urban hip-hop, Kartik Raja on 19th of December. There will also be amazing art and design learning experiences conducted by Jay Jajal’s streetwear-based fashion house, Jaywalking and by self-taught visual artist Santanu Hazarika, who has worked on projects for Raftaar, Adidas, Reebok, Ministry of Culture among others, on 19th and 20th December respectively.

School of Shuffle also presents an incredible opportunity to get a sneak peek into the writing process of the poet and rapper Spitfire through his workshop ‘Kagaz aur Kalam by Spitfire’ on 19thDecember.

Breezer Vivid Shuffle has provided a platform for the burgeoning hip-hop talent in the country and provided avenues for enthusiasts to learn and nurture their hip-hop skills through workshops for the past three years. The platform has garnered great enthusiasm and participation by hundreds of people across the ten cities where Breezer hosted these workshops. In its fourth year, the festival is going virtual and transforming into a league format.

The first phase of School of Shuffle saw an overwhelming response with 120+ people joining in for the workshops.
