Washington-based craft distillery James Bay Distillers has recently announced the release of a barrel-finished version of their Galloping Goose Canadian Whisky.

This new expression is the product of further aging of James Bay Distillers’s Galloping Goose whisky, which is said to be made to a bourbon recipe and then aged 3 years in charred oak barrels, for an additional year in oak barrels which once stored bourbon and Cognac.

The newly released expression is endowed with 44 percent ABV and is 88-proof. According to James Bay, the whisky features “a complex flavor profile comprising caramel, vanilla, baked stone fruit, sweet chocolate, raisins and baking spices” and it has a “nice honey finish.”

Currently, this new whisky release is available for purchase from several places in the US, which include the distillery’s home base at Everett’s Paine Field, Nevada, North Dakota, Alaska, and the Columbia district. One can also order the product for shipping via UPS.
