The Macallan has released a new innovative series of single malts named The Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao. Macallan’s new chocolate-inspired single malt is the first whisky in a new ‘innovative’ series of single malts.
The whisky is made from a combination of European and American oak casks, and is said to pair perfectly with rich chocolate.
In homage to its chocolate influence, The Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao is presented in a 100 percent recyclable gift box, made using discarded husks from cacao pods. A by-product in the chocolate-making process, these husks would have been sent to landfill or destroyed but have now been reborn with a renewed purpose.
The new single malt liquid offers an aroma of chocolate fondant, honey, oak, zesty lime and ginger, while the palate brings hints of dark chocolate, honey, dates, vanilla and cinnamon.
The Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao is bottled at 44 percent Abv and it will be available globally soon for US$160.
