Alexandrion Group, renowned spirits and wine producer and distributor from Romania, will introduce the Carpathian range of single malts with a series of global events throughout the year. These are the first single malt expressions from Romania.
The tour will commence in the US on 21st May, on the World Whisky Day and the range will have a limited edition run of 930 bottles. The tour will conclude in Romania in the final quarter of this year, with a commercial launch of 10,000 bottles of the liquid; covering 11 finishes.
Carpathian Single Malt is bottled at 46 percent ABV and is distilled, matured and bottled at the Alexandrion Saber 1789 Distillery, located near the Carpathian Mountains. 100 percent malted barley produced in Romania with sub-Carpathian water is used in its production.
During the global tour three inaugural expressions will be presented, which are Feteasca Neagra and Pinot Noir whisky from the brand’s Romanian wine cask Selection, and a Madeira cask-finished whisky, which features as part of the Spanish and Portuguese wine cask selection.
The Feteasca Neagra and Madeira cask-finished whiskies were the product of being initially matured in first-fill Bourbon casks, while the Pinot Noir expression was exclusively matured in Romanian Pinot Noir casks.
