An American distillery named Tamworth Distilling has launched an innovative liquid with green crabs.
Crab Trapper whiskey features a four-year old bourbon distilled with stock comprising harvested green crabs. To control the invasive crab population, New Hampshire-based Tamworth Distilling has developed this green-crab-infused whiskey. Green crabs is an invasive species that causes ecological harm along the New England coast.
The thousands of green crabs are cooked down into a stock, blended with the bourbon, and steeped with spices reminiscent of a low-country seafood boil. One bottle of Crab Trapper whiskey is priced at $65.
