Delhi government exploring options to dispose unsold liquor bottles By admin 13 Nov 2022 in Stories New Update Delhi’s excise department is exploring different options to dispose off around 70 lakh unsold liquor bottles, which were bought by private licensees under the now scrapped excise policy. As the Delhi government scrapped its new excise policy and re-introduced the old excise policy for Delhi, the bottles remained unsold in excise go-downs and warehouses. One of the options that the Delhi government is exploring is to register the concerned brands and sell them through liquor outlets. Offering a 25 percent discount below their actual price may also be an option. The other option is to destroy them. The excise department of Delhi has prepared a proposal to roll over the old liquor stock. This proposal is awaiting cabinet approval. With cabinet approval, the companies may be able to sell the leftover stock through corporation-run vends. Subscribe to our Newsletter!
