New Update
Private players in Delhi's retail liquor trade unlikely in the near future

The Delhi government is expected to continue with its existing excise regime regarding retail liquor trade beyond February, which means that no return for private liquor vends in the capital, in the near future.

The earlier excise policy of the Delhi government where private liquor retailers were operating, was withdrawn on 31st August of the last year after a CBI investigation alleged irregularities in its implementation. In its place, its previous fiscal's excise policy was put in operation where there is no provision for private players in the retail liquor trade of Delhi.
