Mysuru Brewery by Bira 91 goes carbon neutral

On the occasion of the Earth Day 2023, Bira 91 has announced the carbon neutrality of its Mysuru brewery which makes it the country's first Net Zero brewery. The company is already working to become India’s first Net-Zero beer company by 2025.

Bira 91 has significantly reduced Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions through a 360-degree action plan to reduce energy use at its largest brewery in Mysuru and switch to a 100 percent clean, renewable energy source.

TÜV NORD independently assessed and certified Bira 91's carbon emissions for the calendar year 2022. The evaluation was carried out in compliance with global ISO 14064 standards, GHG Protocol and ISAE 3410.
