No processing fee on bar license renewal in U.P.

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved an amendment in its excise policy for 2023-24 fiscal that prohibits the imposition of processing fees on the renewal of bar licences in the state.

The government also changed the clause regarding the purchase of extra alcohol. According to the statement, “the provision has been modified to the extent that procurement of alcoholic beverages in excess of the fixed minimum monthly revenue will not be taken into consideration for determination of minimum monthly revenue in the future and new monthly division of annual revenue has been done for beer shops.”

Additionally, each bottle or tetra pack’s label must bear the MRP in bold letters in the area of 1 cm by 1 cm in the upper right corner.
