U.P. amends its excise policy to mitigate beer retailers By Spiritz Desk 15 May 2023 in Alert New Update The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved a change to the excise policy for 2023-24 fiscal, opening the door for a revision of the month-by-month revenue objective for beer retailers. According to an official the demand for beer is higher during the summer months while sales of vodka, rum and brandy increase during the winter season. Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, additional chief secretary, distributed the updated chart for the beer merchant on 12th May. Moreover, during the months of April, May, and June, 40 percent of the income targets from the sale of beer will be met (14 percent, 14 percent , and 12 percent , respectively).
