CBI accuses Sisodia as the main architect

According to the CBI, Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy CM of Delhi, was the main architect behind the Group of Ministers (GoM) report that paved the way for cartelisation in the liquor trade in Delhi. CBI put this forward to the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi.

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court heard the chargesheet of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Sisodia in a money laundering case pertaining to the scam in the now-defunct excise policy of Delhi for the 2021-2022 fiscal.

The CBI claimed that on 20th March 2021, Sisodia finalised the GoM report in his office while disregarding suggestions put forward by the expert committee.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on 26th February and later by the ED on 9th March from Tihar Jail. Presently he is in judicial custody.
