Helpline to tackle illicit liquor trade

The Avadi Commissionerate in Chennai has introduced a helpline number for people to register their complaints against illicit liquor trade. They can register their complaints on Whatsapp, on 7305735666. Avadi City Police or Avadi Police Commissionerate is a city police administration for the north and northwestern neighborhoods and suburbs of Chennai.

Detailed information on illegal brewers, of transportation of illegal liquor from neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and of those who are selling liquor without licenses can be provided by the complainants. The details of the informants will of course be kept confidential. This measure is expected to facilitate Avadi City Police to nab the persons engaged in illicit liquor trade in their area.
