Huge loss to Telangana due to liquor smuggling

The liquor smugglers are illegally sneaking in liquor from other states to Telangana, which is resulting the state incur huge losses every month.

Liquor shop owners in Telangana have also expressed resentment over losing sales even after paying hefty license fees.

Maximum non-duty paid liquor to Telangana comes from Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha and Goa, all of where liquor is sold at much lower rates than that of in Telangana.

Besides the huge loss of revenue, Telangana is also facing the risk of infiltration of spurious liquor through liquor smuggling. Consumption of spurious liquor can lead to ruining and/or loss of lives.
